Arsenal Transfer Talk
Injuries to Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie could force Le Boss into the transfer market.
The Frenchman says of the transfer situation: "I have the money, I have the desire, but I do not have the player." However, West Ham's Carlton Cole and French striker Andre-Pierre Gignac could both be on Arsène Wenger’s wish list.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Wenger has ruled out a move for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh this transfer window but may still try and sign the Morocco striker when his contract expires in the summer. "Chamakh will stay in Bordeaux until the end of the season and then he will go where he wants to go because he will be completely free," Wenger said. "There is nothing concrete at all between us and Chamakh." Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are all believed to be monitoring the situation.
Also from the Telegraph, it reports that Le Boss has made a £3.5million move for Brazilian teenager Wellington Silva though the deal will not be completed until his 18th birthday in a year's time.
Wenger is also rumoured to be contemplating a move for 15-year-old QPR prodigy Raheem Sterling and could fight it out with rivals Tottenham for 21-year-old Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach.
Reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid, who have vowed not to supplement their squad further this month, would make Cesc Fabregas their primary target in the summer. The Spanish side believe Arsenal would be willing to sell for £40 million, though whether Fabregas, a Catalan, would be willing to move to Madrid is uncertain.
Spanish teenager Fran Merida could leave, with reports suggesting he has signed a pre-contract agreement with Atletico Madrid and will join them in the summer.
