Transfer News and Gossip
The Daily Telegraph reports that Arsène Wenger will delay a decision on signing a new striker until he has assessed the fitness of Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner. If he decides to dip into the transfer market, AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, West Ham's Carlton Cole and France striker Andre-Pierre Gignac are potential targets.
The Gunners are thought to be one of four Premier League clubs and several Spanish clubs who have sent scouts to watch Racing Santander midfielder Sergio Canales.
The Gunners are thought to be leading the race to sign Crystal Palace's highly-rated teenager Victor Moses.
They have also been linked £7m move for Fulham's England under-21 defender Chris Smalling and are also looking at Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons regarded as one of the best young players in France.
Reportedly Wenger has dismissed speculation linking him with a move for Croatian Mario Mandzukic, but are reported to be one of a trio of clubs trailing Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Foster.

Wenger is also rumoured to be in the hunt for Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore, who plays for Cluj in Romania and has been called 'the new Emmanuel Adebayor'. Le Boss has publicly ruled out a move for Bordeaux striker Marouans Chamakh this transfer window.
Other reports say that Wenger has made a £3.5million move for Brazilian teenage Wellington Silva, though the deal will not be completed until his 18th birthday in a year's time. Bolivian midfielder Samuel Galindo has signed for Arsenal, according to reports, but the highly-rated 17 year-old will be loaned out to a Spanish club first as he is unlikely to be granted a work permit.
Wenger is also rumoured to be contemplating a move for 15-year-old QPR prodigy Raheem Sterling.
Arsenal, along with Manchester United, have shown interest in 17-year-old Cardiff defender Adam Matthews.
