Gunners Transfer Talk
News from the transfer market, taken from leading publications in England.
The Gunners are thought to be one of four Premier League clubs who sent scouts to watch Racing Santander midfielder Sergio Canales.
West Ham's Carlton Cole and France striker Andre-Pierre Gignac are both potential transfer targets. The Gunners have also been linked with a £7m move for Fulham's England under-21 defender Chris Smalling and are also looking at Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons regarded as one of the best young players in France.
Croatian Mario Mandzukic is the latest potential solution to the Arsène Wenger's striker crisis. The 23 year-old scored against England at Wembley last year. Arsène Wenger has since denied all reports.
Reports from different publications suggest the Gunners are preparing a bid for Louis Saha, whose future at Everton is in doubt over the striker's extravagant contract demands.
Le Boss is also rumoured to be in the hunt for Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore. The 19 year-old currently plays for Cluj in Romania and has been called 'the new Emmanuel Adebayor'.
Arsène Wenger has publicly ruled out a move for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh this transfer window but Liverpool's interest in the 25-year-old Morocco striker may force him to reconsider.
Wenger has made a £3.5million move for Brazilian teenager Wellington Silva, though the deal will not be completed until his 18th birthday in a year's time.
According to all reports Bolivian midfielder Samuel Galindo has signed for Arsenal, but the 17 year-old will be loaned out to a Spanish club first as he is unlikely to be granted a work permit.
Wenger is also rumoured to be contemplating a move for 15-year-old QPR’s Raheem Sterling and could fight it out with rivals Tottenham for 21-year-old Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach.
Also from the rumourmongers: Arsenal scouts have also been to watch Crystal Palace's Victor Moses, although Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City are also in the hunt.
Arsenal, along with Manchester United, have shown interest in 17-year-old Cardiff defender Adam Matthews, although no formal offer has yet been made.
Wenger has said he is hopeful of keeping Spanish teenager Fran Merida, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid.
