Old Gooner's thoughts on: Burnley vs Arsenal
Well there's good news ....we're still 3rd and with two home games in hand on those above us. And, we scored a goal within 15 minutes for the first time this season. And these days who needs bad news? Last night showed exactly why Burnley were never my favorites for instant relegation. Yes, we should have been out of sight as early as the 20th minute but some appalling finishing plus one great strike from AA which hit the post kept the game very open for a Burnley side which, on the night, possibly (probably?) deserved a bit more than 1 point. Losing Cesc late in the first half certainly did us no favours and with the Verminator having a bit of a nightmare, we have to grateful to Billy G and Alex Song for keeping us in with a shout. Which is a great deal more than can be said for some others who just didn't turn up for the game and, on occasion, gave the feeling that we were playing with 8 men and no keeper. Shades of the gooners of 1993, but then, at least, we had a keeper. But two trips to the North West and 4 points...would anybody have turned that down last week? Gooner for 60 years...
