Between 2000 and 2009 they played in the second tier of English football, until they gained promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 33 years after winning the 2009 Championship Play-off Final. After winning their first four home games, they are now the most successful newly promoted team at home with 4 straight wins, beating the previous record of 3 set by Blackburn Rovers.
