Old Gooner's thoughts on: Porto vs Arsenal
Well, that ref ensures he's the talk of the town for more than the customary 15 minutes of fame...or rather infamy. Twice in one year no less. In all the years I've been watching, never have I seen anything like that decision. But until someone more qualified tells me that what he did was illegal, presumably it wasn't. We (both Sol and Fabianki) really should have been a bit more aware...even to the extent of getting a yellow card....but can you really be 'aware' that such a decision is about to be taken? Hope Howard Webb was watching...time he gave us a goal. It more than matched Fabianki's inanity. But for the feeling that we should wipe the floor with them when they come to Ashburton, I think it would really be "toys out of the cot" mode. As it is, a storm has put all the lines down, and my toys are already in the garden, so quite when this will get sent is anybody's guess. The first half went as quickly as all the players...didn't seem to be a rest period for either side and both ends were busy. After a shaky start it was good to see Sol performing as well as ever, perhaps though he should consider not scoring for us in Euro Cup games. 1-2 has a distressing ring to it! His goal though was worth seeing again if only for Tomas's wonderful cushioned header. That was class. In consideration for sensitive minds, neither of the Porto goals will be discussed further. Suffice to say that "Chesney" is performing wonders at Brentford apparently.
Gooner for 60 years...
